The perfect embodiment of beauty is just a fantasy.

My mother has was very protective of me when i was child
She would not let me fall, she was afraid i would fall
and hurt myself with cuts and bruises

She took every precaution to ensure that the house was safe
She brought baby locks and fences to keep me out of
“dangerous zones” like the kitchen.

She wanted me to be perfect, she did not want me to have any scars on my body.
She would make me wear a hat or umbrella when we went out in the sun

She wanted to preserve my beauty to perfection – like a doll with porcelain skin.

However

I unlocked every baby lock she brought
I climbed out of the fence when she was not aware
I fell and hurt myself when she was not around

Beauty can never be perfect.

I have scars on my body – permanent ones that can’t be erased
But that is what makes me special, the scars are unique to me
They remind me of the experiences i been through
The carelessness i made, my impulsiveness of actions

I learn and grow from it.

In future, when my child falls
I will not pick him up.

He will learn on his own.
