is a great book. I would recommend it for a good read. It depicts a true life account of a Japanese gangster daughter and how she endured all the hardships. Most of the men in her life had abused her in one way or another. She finally did meets someone who respected her but they were in much suffering.
I feel that in the tradition Asian context the men of the household wields too much control over women. Things are set to change because women are increasingly gaining financial independence, they are, in fact becoming stronger. I truly admire women who silently withstand abuse from their husbands in order to protect the young.
Personally, I have not regained much trust in men. If even a choice, I would rather depend on myself. The prospect of marriage and having children does not likely to me at the moment, but I might change my mind in future. I rather be self sufficient and left to my own. Maybe it is just my preference for being solitary from a young age. This book further reconfirms my judgment. I cried several times while reading the book, they bring tears to my eyes, it is was so heart breaking.. and yet looking at her petite figure, one would never realise that she has been through so much.

She crawls into an empty box
It offers solidute and comfort
She hugs her knees and peers outside
Her eye lids never closes
She is tired, and wants to rest.
She took a knife from behind her back
And slices it through her neck
She feels her warm blood flowing down
her body as her eyes look up towards her
own soul. She looks at herself down below
and waves good bye to her body. She travels
into the light and sees her long lost brother.
He smiles at her and offers a hand, they
run together across the fields. Their fond times
drift back into her memory, and she knew that he was waiting.
She had longed so much to join him in the skies, where they could dance all day in the rainbows. There was no end to their happiness and joy, she had always loved him, and now, they can be happily together forever in eternal bliss.

The pain you had caused will never leave
It burns inside my broken heart
The sorrow and tears
They never stop flowing
As time heals
They will remain as scars
Never removed
Always remembered.

When you look at yourself in the mirror, who do you see?
These few days I have seen a beautiful angel, staring back at me, she comes out and hugs me in her warm embrace. She pours all her love into me from her heart. I fill her love fill me up with never ending joy and bliss. She looks and smiles and me before going back into the mirror, and I see myself.
I have also seen what happens when others look at themselves into the mirror. When they look at themselves in the mirror, they see ugliness in their reflection. They immediately cover the mirror in layers and layers of cloth. They try to get rid of the mirror as well, by dumping it outside. They hide in their room, afraid to look at any mirrors.
“He looks at himself in the mirror, his ugliness overwhelms him so much that he smashed the mirror onto the floor. Pieces of glass shattered across the floor, he looked down and saw the broken pieces of his distorted face, staring back at him. In fear, he ran out of the room. He ran and ran towards the darkness. The darkness welcomes him with open arms, gobbling him up like a black hole.
I looked down upon him and sent him a beam of light. He looks up and looks at the light, but he was afraid. He dared not go into the light and went in further and further into the darkness, till no more light came in. I solidified the beam of light, so that one day, when he is ready, he will be able to find his way home”

Anxiety is what every person faces. It can come unexpectedly when we feel vunerable, frightened or afraid. It can also become a problem for those of us who have past unsolved issues. It comes in the form of memories, nightmares or even jerking unexpectedly.
It is real and it often comes with depression. They usually come hand in hand together, you suddenly feel like doing nothing, just staring into space, doing redundant things, or just escaping from the world. I do know a couple of friends who are experiencing this but they do not want to admit it so as they feel that they do not have a problem, but to a observer’s eye – they do have an issue.
I am not depressed in any way but i do have to admit i feel anxiety because of my hyper sensitivity, which can be a good or bad thing. I can feel a person walking behind me a mile away, so i am very careful when I go back home at night. What I would advise girls to do is to form an imaginary shield, a white bubble covering your body and use it for protection – when I am afraid I conquer up the shield and I will feel safe almost instantly. It works in a metaphysical matter, you might think it is rubbish but that is how prayer works – on a level that we cannot see physically.
Another thing I would advise people who are in a position of anxiety (like being in an unfamiliar environment, work stress etc) is to take a few deep breaths and relax your body. When you are anxious, your body reaction is to become tense. Notice your hands the next time you are anxious, you will realise they are very stiff. You have to let go and relax, you will feel much better after that. By doing so, you will aid your blood flow from your heart to the cells in your body. The reason why people suffer from high blood pressure is because they do not know how to relax when needed. By being extremely tensed and stressed all the time, it restricts blood flow to other parts of the body, which might be detrimental over time.
In the modern context of today, we live in a very high paced society. Everything is happening so fast that even the way we walk is faster! Notice the people rushing to get abroad trains and to their destinations. Sometimes you have to spend a bit of time in a cafe and watch these people rushing aimlessly. You will start to realise alot of things about life – and see yourself in their shoes. Learn to slow down and take things at a time. There is no point rushing, there is always time. Even if you do not complete it in this time, there will always be a future (if you believe in recarnation).
Enjoy what you have now and be grateful for it.

She was leviating in the air, turning slowly in all directions.
The energies came fourth and poured onto her body
They soothe and renew her tired body
Making it balanced once again.

“I am an illusion, an imagination gone wild”
I can’t tell you the answer, because there are many sides of me. Including the sides I don’t know of. If you look closely at the Johari Window, you will realise that everything based on what we think of ourselves is perception – and other people’s perception.
To prevent ourselves from going insane with multi facet personalities, we tend to stick to one most of the time – which is the side we show to others. It does not necessary mean that what we show to others is what we are – because most of the time we are blending in with the crowd. It is a human defence mechanism, our ego will stablise our subconsciousness and consciousness to represent who we are to the world based on what we think we are.
After understanding these mechanisms at work (look up on human psychology if you would like to understand more), I realise that I am not who I am. I am something else, beyond my perception and your imagination. I am in fact, the master of my destiny. After all, we are all souls, we are no different from each other. When we come to this earth the society places labels on us depending on our age, gender, social class and so on. However, we do not realise the fact that we are all equal.
“A man needs a reflection of a woman to understand what love means.”
When we reincarnate on earth, we are split into two genders, man or woman. The world needs duality. There is duality in everything we see – good and evil, charity and greed, love and lust. But we come from the same source, the infinite source. We are all godlike in our own ways, in fact, i dare say we are all gods. However, as earth is a hologram, we fail to see our true appearances.
Depending on the vibrations we give out, we can become closer or further away from god. Its like tuning into a radio station, you can choose to tune to the classical music station or rock station. Depending on our choice, we can tune in into different frequencies of the earth.
After upon realisation, the veil was lifted off my eyes. I could see the world clearly now, all the souls on it, all the living trees and animals – they are all alive. I could see the ugliness in the soul- filled with greed, possessiveness, envy, gluttony; their physical appearances does not deceive me. The leaders, ruling the populace with fear, will be overthrown and taken over by a genuine representative governance filled with love for the earth.

Experimenting around with willow charcoal to sketch a three dimensional heart
My very first acylic painting. I did it on a drawing block, huge mistake.
Introduction painting class at my art space. We were asked to only use blue to paint still life. The banana was exceptionally hard. We had to get the tone and shadows right. Overall, I think that it still needs alot of work.
A sketch of an optical illusion I am working on. It is pretty difficult as it is hand drawn. I am trying to coordinate the colours but somehow it still looks kind of weird so I am still experimenting around with this. Most likely I will paint it on a huge canvas in time to come.

Well, I was checking around my stats and I was surprised to find out that an average blog like mine could hit 1k+ views a month. It sets me thinking that how redundant corporations are spending $1 per view on other media such as newspapers, magazines, print ads when they could just hold their campaign online for just barely $0.01 a view. (which means 100 times savings).
It sets me thinking that the social revolution of the internet as allowed small and medium enterprises to thrive with low cost advertising and home based offices – thus bringing down the cost of operations – which in turn equals to savings for consumers.
It does set me thinking that in time to come, print advertisements will become redundant and everything will be based online – on a global scale. The competition is not local, it is global. You can hire a marketing agency from Australia by outsourcing online and a group of engineers from Taiwan to design the products and manufacture it in China. Because more people are spending time online, there will not be a need for advertising on print ads, more brand awareness visibility is achieved via online campaigns, especially among Generation Y.
For now, print ads are targeted at those who do not surf online, or are not computer illiterate. However, the illiteracy rate of computer usage will be an unheard thing to come in 50 years. It is advisable for marketeers to consider moving their full fledge operations online with a mobile office. This will result in a decrease in demand for offices and an increase in home based businesses.
Employment will be a thing of the past as everyone will be operating their own business/trade online. Only those who are pc illerate will lose out in this media revolution.
